I have been sitting on this project for a while, I purchased this GE “Luminous Radiator” in mid-to-late April, I thought it was the coolest looking thing I had ever seen; but there were a couple of issues I had to tackle before I really could start: Well; first, of course the rust and although I knew could get it off, I also knew that it would be very time consuming(since I do not own a sand blaster). The second was to find a purpose for it other than a radiator. My original idea was to make it a vanity mirror; but, after asking a few women, it seems its a bit too clunky for that. Then last week I met with an old professor/mentor and he suggested a liquor display (since the copper bellows are shaped perfectly to hold a bottle). So I went with that. I had already finished the facade of the piece a few weeks ago, so it was just a matter of how I was going to make it work as a display and this is how ended up.

When I think of some one being passionate enough to keep there prized bottle or bottles in a display the first to come to mind was scotch drinkers(or rather connoisseurs) so I designed it to hold one bottle and two glasses.
